Le CONTRIVE is a design firm. Established by Shikhar Gupta & Ankita Gupta. Le CONTRIVE is a place that nobody is from, but anyone can go to. Le CONTRIVE began as a collaborative architectural and interior workshop and has remained true to its trans-disciplinary way of thinking since its inception. Our work strives to enhance our sense of place, identity and relationship to others and the physical spaces we inhabit, whether feral or human-made. Residences, markets, reindeer observatories, landscapes and dollhouses get the same care and attention to purpose. Today, Le CONTRIVE has grown to become a renowned practice with more number of satisfied clients all across.
We believe that a diverse world is a more interesting world. Globalization brings great advances and benefits: greater understanding of different cultures, the ability to be almost anywhere in a matter of hours, and the falling away of social and cultural barriers. But with this also comes the feeling that the world is becoming more homogenous and potentially less interesting.
We have a fascination for and high regard for the social and environmental differences of different cultures and communities. These differences have been cultivated over many years. They are the reason that the world is unique and exciting to experience. In every commission, we undertake we first seek to understand the society and culture of the communities we design for.
At Le CONTRIVE, we believe that great design is diverse design. It's a product of its environment. It's design by people who intrinsically understand the end user. It's also design that constantly challenges the status quo and looks to innovation and cutting edge thinking to push the boundaries of what's possible.
